Keeping your Electrical panel clean is crucial for safety and efficiency, the last thing you want is your panel overheating creating a fire hazard and eventually losing power! By keeping your electrical panel clean and maintained you reduce fire risks, unwanted shocks and it gives you an opportunity to catch any major damage that will need to be replaced. It will increase the lifespan of the panel and allow the electricity to flow more efficiently.

GFCI's were created to protect people from electrical shocks, GFCI's continuously monitor the flow of electricity and shut off the power when a fault has been detected. You should test your GFCI's at least once a month to make sure they are working properly or need replacing. Life span of a GFCI is about 10-15yrs depending on usage.
Surge protectors are a great way to keep your electronics safe from sudden voltage spikes or power surges. Most surge protectors are designed to last up to 5 years, so if you live in an area that has constant surges from the power lines you may want to install one, or if you already have one you can check the indicator light to make sure it is still on and not off.
